Abstract

Penciptaan karya seni instalasi New Media Art yang berjudul "Synthetic Identity" ini lahir dari pengalaman traumatis perupa yang pernah menjadi korban pemerasan siber lewat rekayasa video berbasis Artificial Intelligence (AI). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode artistic research yang mengintegrasikan proses refleksi personal ke dalam tahapan konseptualisasi, eksperimentasi media, hingga eksekusi visual. Untuk membedah fenomena ini secara kritis, perupa menerapkan teori Simulacra dari Jean Baudrillard guna menganalisis bagaimana teknologi deepfake telah mengaburkan batasan antara realitas asli dan realitas buatan hingga memicu krisis kepercayaan publik di ruang siber.  Secara visual, teror digital ini diwujudkan melalui manipulasi citra wajah manusia yang mengalami distorsi, kerusakan, serta tambahan elemen visual seperti Heads Up Display dan scanlines untuk menciptakan kesan yang tegang dan mengancam. Pada aspek operasional, perupa menggabungkan media analog dan digital secara interaktif. Perangkat fisik seperti televisi CRT, handycam, dan laptop diintegrasikan dengan sistem pemrograman Python, Visual Code Studio dan OBS Studio untuk memproses wajah audiens secara real-time. Gabungan instalasi ini menjadi metafora dari siklus produksi teror siber yang terjadi di dunia nyata. Melalui karya "Synthetic Identity", perupa berhasil mengubah trauma menjadi pemantik kesadaran (social alarm) bagi masyarakat mengenai pentingnya kewaspadaan siber dan literasi digital dalam menghadapi realitas buatan.
