RINGKASAN MENGENAI PERFEKSIONISME MALADAPTIF DAN PROKRASTINASI AKADEMIK DI KALANGAN MAHASAISWA UNIVERSITAS INDONESIA

Penelitian ini mengkaji korelasi antara penundaan akademik dan perfeksionisme maladaptif di kalangan mahasiswa perguruan tinggi Indonesia, terutama dalam konteks norma budaya kolektivistik. Ketakutan berlebihan terhadap kegagalan, kritik diri yang berlebihan, dan standar pribadi yang irasional merupakan ciri-ciri perfeksionisme maladaptif, yang dapat menyebabkan perilaku penghindaran seperti penundaan. Sebanyak 411 mahasiswa sarjana dan pascasarjana berusia 18 hingga 38 tahun berpartisipasi dalam studi ini, yang menggunakan metodologi kuantitatif non-eksperimental. Peserta mengisi Frost Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale (FMPS) dan Academic Procrastination Scale – Short Form (APS-S). Berbeda dengan temuan di konteks Barat, di mana hubungan tersebut sering positif, hasil penelitian menunjukkan hubungan negatif yang kuat antara penundaan akademik dan perfeksionisme maladaptif (r = –0.335, p <.001). Temuan ini mungkin dipengaruhi oleh moderator budaya tertentu yang dapat menghambat penundaan bahkan di kalangan perfeksionis, seperti rasa malu, kehormatan keluarga, dan disiplin akademik. Hasil ini memiliki implikasi bagi praktik kesehatan mental dan pengobatan akademik yang sensitif secara budaya yang berusaha mengurangi gangguan emosional pada mahasiswa yang cenderung perfeksionis.
